Poverty is one of the biggest global issues-in today’s world. Billions of people around the
world live in extreme poverty. Nearly 10 percent of the world’s population is almost 1 billion
people living-below the World Bank poverty line of $1.90 per day. What is the impact of poverty
on children? It is one of the leading-causes of suffering among children. Poverty has many
detrimental outcomes for children. It can affect them both mentally and physically causing
damage for both short and long term. According to many researches, children who come from
low income families have been shown to suffer from malnutrition, family stress, behavioral
problems etc. In this literature review-we are going to explore some of these different variables
that uphold the impact of poverty among children-of various ages.
